For poor people living in highly endemic areas, malaria is life threatening and a hindrance to normal life.

We can do the following to reduce the chances of being bitten by a mosquito:

1. Try to minimize human mosquito contact. This can be done by:

- Using mosquito nets.

- Wearing long sleeved shirt

- Trying to remain indoors at evening when the mosquitoes are maximum

- Keeping hygienic conditions. Body odor and carbon dioxide are the main attractants for mosquitoes.

2. Try to eliminate mosquito breeding site in and around your house /colony.

- Remove stagnant water

One female mosquito lays about 600 eggs during its lifetime, i.e., if you kill one mosquito today, it is equal to killing 600 mosquitoes of tomorrow.
